What Are the Indicators for Evaluating Liver Health?
Indicators of liver function include transaminases such as alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, total bilirubin, direct and indirect bilirubin, albumin, globulin, albumin to globulin ratio, alkaline phosphatase, etc. Typically, examination for hepatitis B requires tests for liver function and the five hepatitis B markers. If there are any issues, further liver ultrasonography may be needed.
1. Frequent diarrhea: If you often experience diarrhea in your daily life, it may indicate a decline in liver function. The liver plays a role in promoting bile excretion and assisting in food digestion. When liver function decreases significantly, there may be insufficient bile secretion. Combined with dietary issues, this can lead to diarrhea, which is related to decreased liver function.
2. Easy fatigue and weakness: When liver function decreases, patients may experience physical fatigue and weakness. If you frequently feel tired and weak, it may be due to decreased liver function and reduced ability to absorb nutrients. Without sufficient nutritional intake, the body may exhibit symptoms of fatigue and weakness.
3. Significant decrease in appetite: A decrease in appetite is also a sign of impaired liver function. The liver is a crucial organ for digesting food, especially high-fat foods, which require bile secretion from the liver for digestion. If liver function declines, food digestion may be affected, leading to a noticeable decrease in appetite. If this situation persists, it is advisable to promptly improve liver function.
