What is the Normal Color of Semen?
Under normal conditions, the color of semen is normally grayish white or slightly yellow. The appearance of milky white or yellowish green indicates the presence of inflammation in the reproductive tract or accessory glands. The color of semen is determined by the components that compose it.
Similarly, prolonged abstinence can result in a more yellowish color due to changes in its physical and chemical properties. Persistent yellowish semen despite regular sexual activity indicates inflammation within the reproductive tract, possibly caused by prostatitis or seminal vesicle inflammation. Untreated, these conditions can affect semen quality and even lead to infertility.
Abnormalities in sperm can often lead to male infertility. It is advisable to be aware of any abnormalities in semen and to undergo regular check-ups at the hospital. This helps in timely detection and treatment of any underlying conditions.
