How to Treat Mild Anal Stenosis?
Mild anal stenosis can be caused by congenital developmental abnormalities, anal fistulas, rectal polyps, etc., and can be treated with medication, anal dilation therapy, and surgical treatment.
1. Congenital Developmental Abnormalities: Due to abnormal embryonic development, there is mild stenosis in the anal area. If it currently does not affect normal bowel movements, special treatment is generally not required. When bowel movements are affected, liquid paraffin, glycerin, etc., can be used locally as recommended by a doctor to promote bowel movements. Digital dilation may be used to dilate the anus if necessary.
2. Anal Fistula: Most cases are due to abscesses around the anal canal or rectum, which can cause significant swelling and pain, leading to anal stenosis. Generally, timely surgical treatment is required, such as anal fistula excision, and the condition will gradually return to normal after surgery.
3. Rectal Polyps: Due to the large size of rectal polyps, they compress the anal area, causing anal stenosis. Polypectomy should be performed under colonoscopy. Besides the above reasons, it may also be caused by other reasons such as perianal tumors. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly and cooperate with doctors for treatment.
