What Does a Thyroid Function Five-Panel Test Include?
Thyroid function five items refer to the examination of serum total TT3, serum total thyroid hormone TT4, serum free thyroid hormone FT4, serum free FT3, and thyroid stimulating hormone TSH.
Generally, the normal range of serum total TT3 for healthy individuals is between 1.6 and 3.0 nmol/L. If it exceeds this range, it may indicate hyperthyroidism, multiple thyroid nodules, functional hyperthyroid adenoma, etc. If it decreases, it may indicate iodine deficiency thyroid enlargement or thyroid dysfunction.
The normal range of serum total thyroid hormone TT4 is 65-155 nmol/L. If it increases, it may indicate primary biliary cirrhosis, hyperthyroidism, etc. Conversely, it may indicate hypothyroidism or iodine deficiency thyroid enlargement.
The normal range of serum free thyroid hormone FT4 is 0.3-25.7 pmol/L. If it exceeds the normal range, it may indicate thyroid insensitive syndrome and multiple thyroid nodules. If it is below this normal range, it may be a manifestation of hypothyroidism.
The normal range of serum free FT3 is 6.0-11.4 pmol/L. If it exceeds this range, it may indicate thyroid hormone insensitive syndrome and hyperthyroidism. A decrease may be due to the use of glucocorticoids, low T3 syndrome, etc.
The normal value of thyroid stimulating hormone TSH is 2-10 mU/L. If it is higher than this range, it may indicate simple goiter or hypothyroidism. If it decreases, it may indicate Cushing's syndrome or hypofunction of the adenohypophysis.
The thyroid gland is relatively important for people. Abnormalities in thyroid function undoubtedly pose a significant threat to people's health.
