After adverse reactions occur due to Aminophylline, the drug should be immediately stopped, and relevant treatments should be carried out. Incorrect dosage of Aminophylline may lead to the occurrence of adverse reactions, and in severe cases, it may even lead to poisoning. Therefore, special caution should be taken when using this type of drug.
1. If we experience adverse reactions to Aminophylline, we should stop using the drug immediately and provide symptomatic treatment to correct hypokalemia in order to stabilize the cardiovascular and nervous system functions of the patient. We can take activated carbon orally to reduce drug absorption and accelerate the elimination of theophylline.
2. In cases of severe Aminophylline poisoning, if the Aminophylline was taken orally, gastric lavage and purging should be performed immediately for emergency treatment. If the poisoning was caused by intravenous infusion, intravenous diuretics can be administered to the patient to promote the excretion of toxins.
3. If symptomatic treatment is ineffective, hemodialysis can be used to reduce blood concentration. Intravenous administration of barbiturates can also be used to stop spasms. Barbiturates can deactivate theophylline and increase its excretion.
4. Peritoneal dialysis: For severe Aminophylline poisoning with shock and hematemesis where blood perfusion and hemodialysis are not feasible, peritoneal dialysis can be performed. This method is safe, reliable, and easy to operate.
