Why Do I Easily Forget Things?
Forgetfulness is a symptom of amnesia, which exists in many people. It is not only due to poor memory, but may also be caused by diseases. Forgetfulness can be mainly divided into organic amnesia and functional amnesia. When forgetfulness is accompanied by other abnormalities in the body, it needs to be taken seriously, and actively seek reasons for solving it.
1. Organic amnesia is caused by problems with the memory nerves in the cerebral cortex, including brain tumors, brain trauma, encephalitis, etc., which can lead to memory decline or loss. Some severe systemic diseases, such as endocrine dysfunction, malnutrition, chronic poisoning, etc., can also damage the brain and cause amnesia. At the same time, as age increases, the brain itself will undergo a certain degree of degenerative changes, or the brain function will decline due to gradual hardening of the cerebral arteries. To deal with organic amnesia, if it is caused by a disease, it should be treated promptly, or strengthen thinking and physical exercise. Strengthening thinking activities is to use the brain more, analyze problems more, which can prevent the brain from becoming dull and keep the memory nerves of the cerebral cortex youthful forever. Physical exercise can ensure that the brain has enough blood supply, which is helpful for memory.
2. Functional amnesia refers to problems with the memory function of the cerebral cortex. When people reach middle age, they shoulder heavy work responsibilities and have many housework tasks. The memory of what they learn is often not deeply rooted in specific parts of the cerebral cortex. To deal with functional amnesia, there are several methods: 1. Thoroughly understand the learning content, do not know it halfway or swallow it whole; 2. Try to eliminate various external distractions; 3. Frequently recall and review learned knowledge; 4. Gradually proceed and avoid tension and impatience; 5. Pay attention to work and rest, ensure sleep, and generally continuous learning should not exceed 1 to 1.5 hours. Some people desperately take health supplements or brain-boosting drugs to enhance their memory, while others want to overcome amnesia with the help of cigarettes, alcohol, strong tea, and coffee, which are all not advisable. Doing so will not only fail to help memory, but often have more disadvantages than advantages for physical health. When the diagnosis of the disease causing amnesia cannot be determined clinically, it can be initially diagnosed as amnesia to be investigated, and syndrome differentiation and treatment can be performed.
