Mesalazine Enteric-coated Tablets

Mesalazine Enteric-coated Tablets are used for the treatment of acute enteritis, ulcerative colitis and other diseases, relieving symptoms such as abdominal pain, indigestion, and colic. Administered orally, they directly act on the intestinal mucosa. Children, individuals with liver or kidney dysfunction, and those with severe infections are not suitable for treatment with this medication. Crohn's disease is a chronic granulomatous inflammation that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, with the terminal ileum being the most common site, hence it is also known as "terminal ileitis". Depending on other characteristics, the disease is also known as "ileocolitis" and "granulomatous enteritis". Its etiology remains unclear. The affected intestinal segments become thicker and coarser. If there are multiple lesions, they are often separated by a segment of normal intestine. During acute phases, there is mucosal hyperemia and edema, while chronic phases may present with ulceration. It can occur at any age, but is most common between 20 and 40 years of age, with similar incidence in males and females. Most cases are asymptomatic with a long duration, and the main symptoms are abdominal pain and diarrhea. Barium meal and barium enema exams are still important methods for diagnosing this disease. There is currently no curative treatment. Medical management includes supportive care and medication, while surgical intervention is generally reserved for cases with certain complications.
