There is generally no fixed notion of three acupoints that are most feared by pharyngitis. Pharyngitis can be improved by massaging acupoints such as Lianquan (CV23), Renying (ST9), Tiantu (CV22), and Yuji (LU10), but it requires active cooperation with a doctor during the process.
1. Lianquan (CV23) is generally located in the anterior neck region and has the effect of benefiting the throat and relaxing the tongue. Repeated massage of this acupoint under the guidance of a professional doctor can alleviate pharyngitis-induced symptoms such as burning and itching in the throat.
2. Renying (ST9) is located on both sides of the laryngeal prominence. Patients can persist in repeatedly massaging this area to effectively relieve cough and expectoration caused by pharyngitis.
3. Tiantu (CV22), also located in the anterior neck region and belonging to the Ren Mai (Conception Vessel), has the effect of resolving phlegm and stopping cough. To a certain extent, it can improve cough and expectoration caused by pharyngitis.
4. Yuji (LU10) is located in the depression at the back of the terminal phalanx of the thumb. Repeated massage of this area as prescribed by a doctor can be beneficial for pharyngitis.
In addition, massaging Zhaohai (KI6) can effectively relieve symptoms such as dry mouth, dry throat, and a foreign body sensation in the throat caused by pharyngitis. If pharyngitis does not improve significantly, patients can also use Western medicines such as Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets or Cefixime Dispersible Tablets under the guidance of a professional doctor to achieve the purpose of treatment.
