Modern people are increasingly prone to sub-health conditions, often experiencing symptoms such as sore back and waist, decreased resistance, and immune system disorders. Cupping therapy can be used to remove dampness from the body, and it is a traditional Chinese medicine health preservation method that is safe and healthy without harm to the body. Alcohol and boiling water can be used to sterilize the cups, and after cupping, wiping with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol can prevent bacteria from growing and spreading.
Methods for sterilizing the cup:
1. Generally, it is used after vacuum cupping, and then wiped with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. If necessary, it can be sterilized with boiling water. After boiling water sterilization, the lid on the cup should be removed. The temperature of the water should not exceed 100 degrees Celsius, and it should not be submerged in boiling water for more than 5 minutes to avoid damaging the cup.
2. When closing the lid after sterilization, we must pour some water on the lid, which can also serve as a protective measure. Additionally, after cleaning, the cup should be placed in a well-ventilated area to allow it to dry quickly and prevent bacterial growth.
3. Cupping devices should be avoided from squeezing, friction, and kept clean. They should not be exposed to corrosive liquids or external products such as safflower oil. The vacuum cleaner can be disassembled for cleaning. Regularly clean any dirt inside the barrel. After wiping the rubber bowl, apply a little lubricant around it.
When performing cupping, please note the following:
The duration of cupping should be determined based on specific conditions and location. Generally, the cup should be left on for 10-15 minutes. For larger cups with stronger suction and tension, the duration can be appropriately shortened, otherwise, it may cause blisters. If the blisters are small, they usually disappear by themselves without special treatment. However, if the blisters are large, it is best to seek medical treatment.
