What Are the Changes to the Breasts During Pregnancy?
During pregnancy, the nipples may darken, become easily erect, and experience soreness and other changes. These changes are due to the increase of hormones in the body, which leads to nipple soreness, increased melanin production, and darkening of nipple color to dark brown or brown. The areola may also enlarge and develop small papules or circular nodular protrusions. These nipple changes are normal physiological responses and do not require concern.
1. Changes in the hips: During pregnancy, the hips become wider and thicker due to the influence of progesterone, which causes fat to accumulate easily in this area. Additionally, the stability of the pelvic bones may decrease compared to before pregnancy, and the weight of the fetus can add pressure, leading to discomfort and pain when climbing stairs, getting out of bed, or twisting the body.
2. Urine leakage: Urine leakage during pregnancy is common, sometimes occurring even with simple actions like sneezing or coughing. This is related to hormonal changes and pelvic floor muscle relaxation during pregnancy. As the body gradually recovers after childbirth, this issue may improve.
3. Gastrointestinal changes: During pregnancy, the uterus gradually enlarges, pushing the stomach upward. This, along with the influence of progesterone, can weaken gastrointestinal motility and dilation, leading to feelings of bloating and an increased risk of hemorrhoids.
