What Medications are Used for Nebulization Treatment of Rhinitis and Pharyngitis?
Both rhinitis and pharyngitis belong to upper respiratory tract infections in clinical practice. Patients with these conditions can undergo nebulization therapy with mucus expectorants, antibiotics, glucocorticoids, and anti-allergic medications under medical guidance. After nebulization, patients with rhinitis and pharyngitis should promptly rinse their mouths to prevent infection.
1. Mucus Expectorants: Such as acetylcysteine inhalation solution and ambroxol hydrochloride inhalation solution, which dilute mucus and make nasal and throat secretions thinner, facilitating their expulsion from the body.
2. Antibiotics: For rhinitis patients undergoing nebulization, medications like ceftriaxone sodium for injection and amoxicillin sodium for injection can be prescribed to eliminate pathogens and control infection.
3. Glucocorticoids: Including budesonide inhalation suspension and beclomethasone dipropionate inhalation suspension, which alleviate inflammatory reactions in the nasopharyngeal mucosa, reducing edema and nasal secretions.
4. Anti-Allergic Medications: If allergies are present, medications like ketotifen fumarate tablets and montelukast sodium tablets can be prescribed to improve symptoms for rhinitis and pharyngitis patients.
Apart from the aforementioned medications, patients may also be prescribed nebulization with a combination of normal saline and budesonide inhalation suspension. After nebulization, it's crucial for rhinitis and pharyngitis patients to rinse their mouths promptly to prevent drug residue from lingering in the mouth, which could lead to bacterial growth. Additionally, it's recommended that patients maintain a light diet, consume fresh fruits and vegetables like apples, bananas, carrots, etc., rest adequately, and avoid staying up late or overexertion to aid in their recovery.
