The main ingredient of ribavirin is ribavirin, with the chemical name of 1-β-D-ribofuranosyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-carboxamide. It is mainly used for the treatment of bronchitis caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). It can prevent and treat epidemic hemorrhagic fever and Lassa fever, shorten the fever period in the early stage, and reduce renal vascular injury and toxic symptoms. Ribavirin can be used locally for herpes simplex viral keratitis.
The dosage of ribavirin tablets varies according to different indications, and the usage is as follows: 1. Viral respiratory tract infection: Adults take 0.15g each time, 3 times a day, and 7 days as a course of treatment. 2. Skin herpes virus infection: Adults take 0.3g each time, 3 times a day, with 7 days as a course of treatment. 3. Children take 10mg/kg per day, divided into 4 doses, with a course of 7 days. The dosage for children under 6 years old is not determined.
