How Should Babies Lie on Their Stomachs and Raise Their Heads Correctly?
When a baby lies prone, their little hands should be placed on their chest to support their head and chest. If the baby's hands are clenched, try to gently open their palms. The baby's feet should be touching the ground, as a "plane foot" position is not conducive to crawling and walking later on. After three months, when the baby lies prone, their lower legs should not be curled up at a right angle to their thighs, and their upper limbs should be able to support their entire upper body.
1. When starting to train the baby to raise their head, you can begin by holding them upright, using both hands to support their back and hips. However, do not hold them upright for too long as they are still very young, and give them a break after a short period of time.
2. When the baby is not eating, place them on the mother's chest or abdomen, and gently massage their back with your hand. Occasionally tease and entertain the baby to encourage them to gradually practice raising their head.
3. Lay the baby prone on a slightly firm bed (not too soft to avoid affecting their breathing). Place the baby's arms forward and use toys or other interesting objects to attract their attention and encourage them to lift their head.
4. When the baby is prone, you can also use noisy toys or continuously call their name around them to attract their attention, which will help to exercise their head-lifting movements and also improve the flexibility of their neck.
First, choose a time when the baby is in a good mood to conduct the training, and avoid doing it immediately after they have finished eating to prevent milk regurgitation.
Second, the duration of each training session does not need to be too long, just a few minutes is sufficient. If the baby is in a good mood, you can interval train a few times, and stop immediately if they do not want to continue.
Third, apart from teasing them while they are lying prone, you can also create sounds from above when holding them to entertain them.
