How to Address Rough and Calloused Hands?
Friction on the hands for a long time can easily lead to the formation of calluses, which do not have any major impact on the hands, but the rough texture of calluses can make the skin of the hands look unsightly. Calluses are commonly found on people who do manual labor or frequently use equipment for fitness.
Although calluses do not pose a significant problem, they can give people an unpleasant feeling due to their rough texture. Softening and removing calluses can be achieved through soaking hands in hot water, applying medication, and using baking soda.
1. Soaking hands in hot water: During each handwashing, you can use some hot water to soak your hands. The longer you soak, the faster the old calluses on your hands will be removed. It is best to add some white vinegar to the water while washing your hands, as vinegar can soften the old calluses on your hands.
2. Applying medication: If the calluses on your hands are thick and difficult to remove, you can purchase a keratolytic agent, which is a medication that removes dead skin cells. Apply it to the areas with calluses on your hands and leave it on for a while before washing it off. Alternatively, rubbing the areas with calluses vigorously with a lemon can also help solve the problem.
3. Using baking soda: If the calluses on your hands are thick, you can apply some baking soda to the palm of your hand. Then, add a few drops of essential oil to the baking soda. Mix some water with the baking soda and essential oil to form a paste, and apply it to the areas with calluses on your hands. By doing this consistently for a period of time, you will find that the calluses on your hands will quickly disappear. This is because the ingredients in baking soda can effectively remove excess dead skin cells on the hands, while the essential oil contains mint and alcohol, which have antibacterial properties.
