When a newborn baby experiences apnea, artificial intervention and stimulation should be performed. It is necessary to quickly massage the baby's back and repeatedly tap the baby's feet to stimulate the skin from the outside, making the baby cry and thus improving the apnea phenomenon. If apnea occurs frequently in the baby, medication is required, usually drugs that can stimulate the respiratory center to improve the symptoms of apnea.
1. When a newborn baby experiences apnea, immediately stimulate the baby's skin (such as tapping the baby's feet with a finger) to make it cry. This will quickly restore breathing.
2. As parents, you should actively cooperate with doctors to find the triggers of apnea in your child in order to provide effective treatment. If it is caused by hypoxia, oxygen inhalation can be given; if it is caused by high room temperature, the room temperature should be lowered; if it is caused by sepsis, antibiotics should be used.
3. If apnea occurs frequently in a newborn baby, oral aminophylline can be given, 2-3 mg per kilogram of body weight each time, once every 6 hours. Aminophylline can directly act on the respiratory and vasomotor centers and stimulate the myocardium, so it is effective for apnea.
4. If necessary, caffeine can also be administered intramuscularly or intravenously to the baby, with a dosage of 5-10 mg per kilogram of body weight each time. If the episodes are frequent and the above treatments are ineffective, inpatient care and treatment should be considered.
