What Is Dulantin and What Is It Used For?

Update Date: Source: Network

Dolantin is an antispasmodic analgesic developed by Hochst in 1939, specifically for wound pain relief. In early 1940, chemist Hochst successfully increased the potency of this drug by 20 times.

Common analgesic methods for cancer pain:

1. Surgical treatment: If drugs can no longer effectively treat cancer pain, surgical methods can be further adopted to treat cancer pain. Surgical analgesia mainly involves severing the nerves that stimulate pain in the brain, so that cancer pain cannot be communicated to the brain through these nerves, and the pain naturally disappears. However, along with the disappearance of cancer pain, the sense of hot and cold and pressure also disappears, so surgery should not be used to treat cancer pain unless it is absolutely necessary. Cancer patients have weak resistance and are not suitable for adding more wounds.

2. Acupuncture and moxibustion: Acupuncture and moxibustion, which are common in traditional Chinese medicine, can have a good anesthetic effect and can be used to control cancer pain. Especially for some advanced breast cancer patients, it can have a good effect on cancer pain.

3. Nerve block: Another method is to inject analgesic drugs into the patient's nerves to prevent these nerves from transmitting cancer pain information to the brain. Ethanol injection can provide longer analgesia, but the affected area will lose sensation along with it.
