How Long Does Orthodontic Surgery Take?
1. Orthodontic surgery refers to the combined treatment of orthodontics and orthognathic surgery. The process is as follows: Firstly, a surgical plan is determined, and orthodontic treatment is carried out according to the plan to eliminate tooth interference, allowing the bone segments to be cut to move smoothly to the designed position.
2. During fixed orthodontic treatment, brackets, buccal tubes, and other attachments are bonded to the labial side of the teeth, and nickel-titanium archwires are ligated and fixed to use the elasticity of the archwire to traction the teeth into movement. During invisible orthodontic treatment, transparent printed aligners are worn to promote gradual tooth movement; for orthodontic patients, orthognathic surgery generally takes one to two hours to complete the entire procedure.
Pain caused by a cavity indicates that the cavity is more severe, triggering an inflammatory reaction of the dental nerve, leading to toothache symptoms. During the acute phase of pulpitis, it mainly manifests as spontaneous, paroxysmal, and radiating pain, with pain triggered by cold or hot stimuli, or the original pain intensifying. This pain is often unbearable and requires a visit to the dental department as soon as possible, where doctors can quickly relieve the pain through local treatment.
When a cavity causes pain, root canal treatment is needed.
