Whether kidney stones lead to incomplete urination depends on individual circumstances. Small kidney stones generally do not cause incomplete urination, while larger ones may lead to this symptom.

I. May Not Cause Incomplete Urination

1. Small Size: If the patient's condition is mild, and the kidney stones are small, they are unlikely to significantly impact local tissues. In such cases, incomplete urination typically does not occur.

2. Large Size (But Not Blocking): Although the stones are large, if they have not yet obstructed the ureter or kidney, they may not immediately cause incomplete urination.

II. May Cause Incomplete Urination

When patients have kidney stones and fail to seek timely treatment, the stones can gradually grow in size, irritating surrounding mucous membranes and nerves, leading to pain and possibly hematuria. Prolonged untreated conditions can affect normal urination, resulting in incomplete urination.

Patients are advised to maintain a light diet, incorporating fresh fruits and vegetables like apples, tomatoes, and cucumbers, and to increase water intake to promote metabolism and aid in recovery. In severe cases, medication such as lithotripsy granules or nephrolithiasis-clearing granules can be prescribed. For larger kidney stones, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) may be recommended.
