What are the white particles on the scalp?
If you suffer from folliculitis, the substances and bacteria in the hair follicles will mix together, generating metabolites and forming white particles. After scratching or treatment, white particles may appear. It is important to treat this condition promptly. Avoid spicy and stimulating foods, stay away from staying up late, choose a suitable shampoo, and don't wash your hair too frequently, preferably 2-3 times a week.
1. Long-term staying up late, excessive consumption of greasy and spicy foods, and endocrine disorders may lead to excessive sebum production on the scalp. Part of the sebum is excreted, while the rest remains in the hair follicles. When these sebum and dust on the scalp mix, they form white particles.
2. Some people choose shampoos that are not suitable for them, or wash their hair too frequently, disrupting the balance of the scalp and causing excessive sebum production.
3. If you notice white particles settling on your scalp, you must first rule out the possibility of seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis mostly occurs in areas with more active sebaceous glands, such as the scalp. As the sebum production increases, if bacterial infection occurs concurrently, seborrheic dermatitis will develop.
4. Seborrheic dermatitis is associated with unhealthy habits, such as mental stress, excessive fatigue, depression, and staying up late. Additionally, the lack of healthy sleep habits can also exacerbate seborrheic dermatitis. Moreover, some people may consume high-salt, high-sugar, and greasy foods, which may increase sebum production in seborrheic dermatitis, further aggravating the symptoms.
