How to Effectively Remove Head Lice?

Update Date: Source: Network

Having lice on the head mainly occurs in people with dense hair, which is caused by neglecting hair cleanliness in daily life. When infested with lice, the hair will feel numb and itchy, and they have the ability to rapidly multiply, thus it is necessary to remove the lice promptly.

The best way to remove lice from the hair is to shave it off, but it's difficult for women to do so. Instead, they can choose to apply lice medication and wash their hair with sulfur soap, but it's important to maintain hair hygiene.

Here are some methods to remove lice:
  1. Shaving hair: shaving all the hair off, commonly used for children, can remove over 99% of the lice. It's best to burn the shaved hair to prevent the lice spreading.

  2. Applying topical medication: using 50% of Baibu tincture to apply on the hair twice a day, and washing it off with warm water and soap on the third day to kill the lice and their eggs. If Baibu tincture is not available in the market, you can buy 50g of Baibu and high-concentration alcohol such as 75% alcohol 100ml from a traditional Chinese medicine store, soak it for 3-4 days, and then apply it to the hair to kill the lice and eggs.

  3. Washing hair with sulfur soap: if shaving the head is not an option, using sulfur soap to wash the hair twice a day for a period of time can effectively kill the lice. At least, the hair should be trimmed and thinned to facilitate the removal of lice.

  4. Using lice-killing drugs: there are also specialized lice-killing drugs available in the market, such as camphor tablets soaked in water, camphor liquid, 84 disinfectant, Baibu tincture, Baichongling, Dishazi, etc., which can effectively kill the lice. Generally, washing once or twice is sufficient. However, it should be noted that these drugs are toxic, so avoid getting them in your eyes or mouth, and rinse with plenty of water if contact occurs. Avoid using shampoo, conditioner, mousse, and other hair products for three days after killing the lice.

  5. Using aerosol insecticides: aerosol insecticides used to kill cockroaches can also be used to kill lice. When using it, it's best to wear a mask or respiratory protection and ask someone to spray the insecticide onto your hair. Rinse your hair with water 15 minutes later. It should be noted that the operation must be kept away from fire and smoke, as aerosol insecticides are flammable and may cause fire or explosion.
