What is Alginic Sodium Diester?
There are a large number of patients suffering from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in daily life. It is well known that such diseases pose a significant threat to patients' physical health. Currently, there are many drugs available for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, with alginic sodium diester being one of the commonly used medications. This drug can effectively dilate blood vessels, improve blood circulation and blood supply to the brain tissue, and also has a good therapeutic effect on some kidney diseases.
Alginic sodium diester is a polysaccharide sulfate drug extracted from natural seaweed, which has strong dispersive emulsifying properties and is not easily affected by external factors. Due to its anionic polyelectrolyte fiber structure, the charge along the chain is concentrated, and under the action of its electric repulsion, it can enhance the mutual repulsion between cell surfaces rich in negative charges. Therefore, it can inhibit the adhesion between red blood cells and between red blood cells and vascular walls, thereby reducing blood viscosity and promoting the disaggregation of red blood cells. The anticoagulant effect of alginic sodium diester is equivalent to 1/3 to 1/2 of heparin. It can deactivate thrombin, prevent platelets from adhering to collagen, and inhibit platelet aggregation caused by vascular intimal injury, adenosine diphosphate thrombin activation, and release reactions. Therefore, it has anti-thrombotic, blood viscosity-reducing, microarteriovenous spasm-alleviating, and prostaglandin-like effects such as promoting the disaggregation of red blood cells and platelets.
Moreover, alginic sodium diester also has a significant lipid-lowering effect. After administration, it can not only rapidly reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL), very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), etc., but also increase serum high-density lipoprotein (HDL), thereby inhibiting the occurrence and development of atherosclerotic lesions. Alginic sodium diester can significantly dilate peripheral blood vessels and inhibit the formation of arterial and venous thrombosis, thereby effectively improving microcirculation. Additionally, it also has hypoglycemic and antihypertensive effects.
Alginic sodium diester is mainly used for the prevention and treatment of ischemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, such as hyperlipidemia, coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (coronary heart disease), cerebral thrombosis, cerebral arteriosclerosis, hyperviscosity syndrome, and stroke. It can also be used to treat disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and chronic glomerulonephritis. Additionally, it can be used in combination with immunosuppressive agents to treat epidemic hemorrhagic fever.
