Can Drinking More Water Cure Rhinitis and Pharyngitis?
Drinking more water typically cannot cure rhinitis or pharyngitis, as these conditions are common illnesses that are related to weakened immune systems and infections caused by pathogens. When viruses or bacteria infect, inflammation stimulates the nasal and throat mucous membranes, leading to associated symptoms.
For individuals with mild rhinitis or pharyngitis, drinking more water can promote metabolism, alleviate nasal mucosal congestion and edema, and facilitate the excretion of inflammatory substances. However, it does not constitute a treatment for the disease itself, hence drinking more water generally cannot cure rhinitis or pharyngitis.
For patients with severe rhinitis or pharyngitis, simply drinking more water may alleviate symptoms but will not cure the disease. It is recommended that patients promptly seek medical attention and receive drug treatment under the guidance of a physician.
For rhinitis patients, oral medications such as rhinitis tablets and Biyuanshu oral liquid can be prescribed. In cases of sinusitis, oral medications like Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium Tablets and Eucalyptol and Cineole Soft Capsules may be recommended. For pharyngitis patients, treatments may include gargling with Compound Borax Mouthwash and Compound Chlorhexidine Gargle Solution, as prescribed by a doctor.
Patients with rhinitis and pharyngitis are advised to avoid overexertion and staying up late during treatment. Engaging in moderate exercise can help boost immunity. Additionally, it is crucial to avoid spicy and irritating foods like chili peppers in one's diet, and instead, consume fresh vegetables and fruits, which are beneficial for recovery.
