The buttocks refer to the hips. Pain in the upper part of the midline of the hips may be caused by cold stimulation, injury, folliculitis, perianal abscess, lumbar disc herniation, and other reasons, requiring prompt medical attention.
1. Cold Stimulation: If one does not pay attention to keeping warm, cold stimulation can cause tissue spasms, leading to pain in the upper part of the midline of the hips, as well as phenomena such as cool and cold skin in the local area. It is necessary to strengthen warmth retention, add or remove clothing promptly according to weather changes, and stay away from cold environments, and the symptoms will resolve spontaneously.
2. Injury: If the upper part of the midline of the hips is squeezed or impacted, it can cause tissue damage, resulting in obvious pain and swelling in the local area. Ice packs should be used for icing, which can alleviate pain to a certain extent, and after 24 hours, a warm towel can be used for hot compresses to help reduce swelling.
3. Folliculitis: The causes of the disease are related to poor hygiene and bacterial infection. After developing the disease, pain may occur due to inflammation in the hair follicle tissue in the upper part of the midline of the hips, accompanied by symptoms such as itching and papules. Treatment can be carried out with medications such as erythromycin ointment, mupirocin ointment, and fusidic acid cream as prescribed by a doctor, which can promote the resolution of inflammation, but the skin should be cleaned before medication.
4. Perianal Abscess: This disease may be caused by anal gland infection, anal fissures, and other reasons. After developing the disease, small lumps may appear around the anus, accompanied by severe pain, which may also affect the upper part of the midline of the hips. In severe cases, it may cause difficulty in defecation and walking. Surgical treatments such as incision and drainage and negative pressure drainage of perianal abscesses can be performed under the operation of a doctor. After surgery, the wound should be kept clean and free from vigorous exercise.
5. Lumbar Disc Herniation: This disease may be caused by lumbar degeneration and accumulation of chronic damage. After developing the disease, it can cause low back pain and sciatica due to compression of local nerves and tissues, which may radiate to the upper part of the midline of the hips in severe cases, accompanied by symptoms such as numbness of the lower limbs and intermittent claudication. Medications such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, diclofenac sodium sustained-release tablets, and paracetamol tablets can be taken as prescribed by a doctor, but they should not be taken on an empty stomach to avoid irritating the gastrointestinal tract. Pay attention to rest and avoid eating spicy foods such as chili peppers, garlic, and onions in the diet to avoid affecting recovery.
