Is it Safe to Consume Sweet Wine During Lactation?
During lactation, sweet wine can be consumed appropriately. Sweet wine, also known as rice wine, is beneficial for lactation and expulsion of lochia. However, it is crucial to avoid excessive consumption, with one spoonful per day being sufficient.
During lactation, sweet wine can be consumed moderately. Sweet wine contains various nutrients such as vitamins, glucose, and amino acids, which are beneficial for treating postpartum conditions like blood stasis, indigestion, anorexia, irritability, physical weakness, energy depletion, menstrual irregularity, lactation insufficiency, and anemia. Consuming sweet wine during lactation can assist in the expulsion of lochia and promote lactation. However, it's important to note that sweet wine contains alcohol, which can pass through breast milk to the baby. Therefore, it is recommended to consume only a small spoonful of sweet wine per day, preferably cooked with eggs. Boiling the sweet wine further helps to evaporate most of the alcohol, avoiding direct consumption.
