Androx Capsules

Androx Capsules, also known as Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules, are androgenic drugs used for the replacement therapy of male sex hormone deficiency.

Efficacy and Role of Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules

Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules are androgenic drugs used for the replacement therapy of testosterone in male hypogonadism, such as after testicular removal, anorchism, hypopituitarism, and endocrine impotence. They are also used for male middle-aged and elderly symptoms, including decreased libido, weakened mental and physical abilities, and certain infertility caused by sperm production dysfunction. Additionally, they can be used for osteoporosis caused by androgen deficiency.

Dosage and Administration of Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules

Oral administration. Must be used under the guidance of a specialist. The initial dosage is 120-160mg (3-4 capsules) per day. After two weeks of medication, the maintenance dosage is 40-120mg (1-3 capsules) per day. Take twice daily, after meals. If the daily dosage is an odd number of capsules, an additional capsule can be taken in the morning or as prescribed by the doctor.

Adverse Reactions of Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules

The following adverse reactions have been observed during androgen therapy: In prepubertal boys: precocious puberty, increased frequency of erections, enlarged penis, and premature epiphyseal closure. In men: abnormal penile erections and other signs of excessive sexual stimulation, long-term high-dose use may cause decreased sperm count and ejaculate volume. In all patients: urinary problems in older men; water and sodium retention.

Precautions for Testosterone Undecanoate Capsules

1. In case of severe adverse reactions, treatment should be stopped immediately, and resumed from a lower dose after the symptoms disappear. 2. Patients with heart failure (including asymptomatic), renal failure, prostatic hypertrophy, hypertension, epilepsy, or trigeminal neuralgia (or a history of these diseases) should use with caution and be closely observed, as androgens may cause water and sodium retention. 3. Prepubertal boys should use with caution to avoid premature epiphyseal closure or precocious puberty. 4. Patients with kidney disease or heart disease who are prone to edema should use with caution. 5. Athletes should use with caution.
