It is an oral medication and is not suitable for severe infections. Medication Instructions for Cefalexin Capsules:
1. Adult Dosage: Oral administration, usually 250-500mg at a time, 4 times a day, totaling 4g per day. Patients with renal failure should select appropriate medication based on the degree of renal function decline. For streptococcal pharyngitis, simple cystitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and other patients, 500mg every 12 hours.
2. Pediatric Dosage: Oral administration, preferably 25-50mg/kg per day, 4 times a day. For patients with streptococcal pharyngitis and skin and soft tissue infections, 12.5-50mg/kg per 12-hour dose.
Medication timing should be determined based on the nature of the medication. If a medication is irritating, it should be taken 30 minutes after meals to avoid stomach irritation. Generally, anti-inflammatory medications are taken after meals. Taking Cefalexin after meals is preferred.
