What Causes Pseudo-Condyloma?
What Causes Pseudowarts?
The specific causes of pseudowarts are not entirely clear, but it is believed to be associated with poor hygiene of the vulva, mechanical injuries to the vulva, and vaginitis. Here are some potential factors:
Poor Vulva Hygiene:
Inadequate hygiene and inability to maintain cleanliness and dryness in the vulva area can lead to pseudowarts.
Mechanical Injuries to the Vulva:
Regular cycling, wearing rigid, inelastic, or rough underwear, and low-quality pants can cause friction and compression injuries to the vulva, resulting in pseudowarts.
Vaginitis:
Acute or chronic vaginitis, especially in patients with mold vaginitis and trichomoniasis, can cause long-term secretion stimulation, leading to pseudowarts. Most patients do not experience noticeable symptoms, while a few may have mild itching. The development of lesions in this condition is self-limiting and usually does not require treatment. Patients with symptoms can undergo antipruritic and symptomatic treatments, and laser or cryotherapy may be necessary in some cases. Maintaining clean and dry vulva skin and reducing irritation to the local skin is advised.
