What Are the Differences Between Yanzhoukang and Metronidazole?
The main differences between Yakouchang and Metronidazole lie in their different drug components and pharmacological effects. Yakouchang is a synthetic drug that contains both Metronidazole and Fenbufen. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole-type anti-inflammatory drug that has a good inhibitory effect on anaerobic bacteria and is often used in the treatment of oral anaerobic bacteria infections. Fenbufen, on the other hand, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic effects, belonging to the first-line treatment for pain.
Therefore, Yakouchang has a more direct analgesic effect compared to Metronidazole. Metronidazole, on the other hand, is relatively pure and is used as an anti-inflammatory drug for oral infections, amoeba protozoan infections, or bacterial infections. Yakouchang is often used for toothache not only for its anti-inflammatory effect but also for its analgesic effect.
1. Acute pulpitis is commonly seen in patients with deep dental caries. Bacteria enter the pulp cavity through the caries cavity, causing blood congestion and inflammation of the dental nerve. Toothache is often spontaneous, with pain worsening at night and becoming more severe after exposure to hot or cold stimuli. The pain may also radiate to the face, temples, and ears. In cases of suppurative pulpitis, patients may experience increased pain with hot stimuli and reduced or absent pain with cold stimuli.
2. Acute periapical inflammation can be caused by the development of acute pulpitis or factors such as trauma. The affected tooth experiences persistent pain, a floating sensation, and difficulty in chewing. The patient can accurately identify the affected tooth, and tapping on it causes pain. At this point, since the nerve of the affected tooth has been necrotic, there is no excitatory pain.
3. The nature of toothache in acute periodontitis is similar to acute periapical inflammation. The affected tooth experiences chewing pain and a floating sensation, and periodontal pockets and tooth loosening have already formed. Recurrent swelling, pain, and bleeding may occur in the gingival tissue.
4. Periodontal abscess: Further inflammation of the periodontal tissue can lead to suppurative inflammation. Severe pain occurs when an abscess forms, and a fluctuating sensation may be felt locally after the abscess forms. After the formation of a periodontal abscess, the pain may significantly decrease or resolve.
