What are the Causes of Backache and Soreness?
1. Overexertion: In general, back pain caused by physical overexertion will disappear within three days of rest. However, if the pain persists or worsens after rest or massage, it may be a complication of other bone diseases causing back pain. It is important to be vigilant and seek medical attention promptly.
2. Cervical Spondylosis: Cervical spondylosis generally occurs in the cervical spine and sometimes causes pain in the back. The nerves of the 4th, 5th, and 6th cervical vertebrae extend posteriorly, and changes in these nerves can lead to back pain.
3. Neck Strain or Stiff Neck: Neck strain or stiff neck can also cause back pain. Incorrect neck movement or improper sleeping posture can strain the back muscles, leading to backache.
4. Rheumatism: Rheumatism is an autoimmune disease with a slow and insidious onset and a long course. It often causes pain in joints, bones, muscles, blood vessels, and soft tissues, and can sometimes cause back pain, which intensifies in cold weather.
1. During the acute phase, rest is the primary treatment to relax the back muscles.
2. It is recommended that patients wear a waistband when sitting and standing, but avoid wearing it for extended periods to prevent muscle atrophy.
3. Avoid poor sitting posture, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
4. During the pain relief phase, actively engage in exercises for the lumbar and back muscles, such as the "little swallow fly" exercise, to prevent the occurrence of back fascitis.
